What is Crystal Light Therapy?
This therapy has been called Krystal Light Therapy, Color Therapy, Phototherapy, Photodynamic therapy, Photostimulation and Photo Medicine. The true definition is defined as a therapeutic physical modality using photons (Quantum Energy Packets) for pain, tissue repair and increased circulation.
Are there side effects from light therapy?
There are no known contra indicators.
I get confused by the many claims made by laser and light therapy device companies. What should I be aware of?
You should check the following: wavelength, light source (coherent or non-coherent), monochromatic or polychromatic and consider what you will use the device for in your practice. For medical/biological purposes the science is available to support wavelengths between 600nm and 950nm, as applicable, in most cases. 670nm is considered by some medical research to be the ‘wellness zone’.
Who can use the Theragem?
All persons must be a licensed and certified healthcare provider. To use the Theragem on another person you must be a licensed and certified healthcare provider.
Do you provide training?
Yes, we provide basic and advanced training with certification. We also recommend that all practitioners attend our world conference once a year.
Do you provide a warranty? And how does it work?
Yes, a one-year warranty comes with the purchase of equipment. We also offer a three-year extended warranty for an additional fee. Please enquire for information on the extended warranty. All parts and labour are covered. Shipping is at the expense of the equipment owner.
Has the Theragem been approved by the Health care regulators?
Yes, the Theragem is approved by European CE and the United States FDA.
Is color light therapy accepted and recognized by the medical and scientific community?
Yes, color therapy has been accepted and used for many years. Many researchers at top Universities and hospitals are conducting research studies for pain, wound healing, cancer, and many other areas of interest in biological medicine. Nasa, Harvard, MIT, University of Wisconsin are just a few examples.
Have clinical studies been conducted?
Yes, the findings to date have produced very positive results and show great promise for the future. See referenced scientific literature on the website under Research and Development – Scientific Articles.
What is the practioner's billing rate per session?
This can vary but the average fee per session is $75.00. Most patients will require a series of treatments for optimal results.
Can I harm the patient by using the wrong gem cups, therapy, intensity or duration?
No, you cannot. Firstly, the patient is most likely to be able to feel discomfort during treatment the session if you are not using the correct protocol for their condition. In this case, you can reverse the first protocol by using the opposing gem cup, eg the coolness of emerald and sapphire oppose the heat of diamond and carnelian or ruby. Secondly, only the gems come into contact with the electromagnetic frequencies – the patient's skin does not. The light that does touch the patient's skin or clothing is cool and low intensity. Finally, even with several hours of therapy, this therapy would remain completely safe for the patient.
I have heard about electromagnetic waves being emitted from microwaves and mobile phones. Are these the same as those emitted by the Theragem?
There is a wide spectrum of electromagnetic waves, or frequencies constantly present around us - hundreds of radio station signals for instance - and these are deemed to be safe. Those emitted by microwaves and mobile phones are at the potentially dangerous end of the spectrum, whilst those emitted by the Theragem are safe and match levels already naturally present in the human body and are even lower than those emitted by radio stations. The reason why we administer them to the body is to correct imbalances in the body's natural electromagnetic state and return it to naturally healthy energy levels. In laboratory tests, the field strength of the Theragem was shown to be lower than that of a kitchen radio; it is completely harmless and is actually beneficial when administered to the body.
The unit will not switch on. What can I do?
Check that all leads are connected properly and that the mains socket and unit switch are switched on. If this does not cure the problem, please return the unit and heads to Medica Health Ltd. There are no user serviceable parts in the unit.
Do the gemstones ever need changing?
No, the gemstones will outlast the equipment.
If my Theragem breaks down, how long will it take to mend?
Medica Health is committed to supporting the work of therapists who purchase and use its equipment. We will always do our best to repair and return your Theragem equipment within 72 hours of receipt by us.
Will the stand wear out?
The stand has many mechanical parts and though we expect them to last for many years, they may eventually show signs of wear. Wear will be evident by the inability to correctly tighten to keep bars, etc in place. If this is the case, then a new stand can be purchased, relatively inexpensively, from Medica Health Ltd. A basic, additional, single gem cup stand can be purchased if you wish to carry out treatment to use the Theragem on two areas simultaneously. This can be useful in cases of back and arthritic pain.
